Paris Hilton is Jealous of Spaghetti Squash

You read that right.

Paris Hilton is back in the headlines but not for getting into a cat-fight with her regulars… Ahem, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears and Amanda Bynes But because she is openly jealous of Spaghetti Squash!

Paris Hilton is Shocked!

Paris only wishes she had the power to regulate blood sugar; only one of the many amazing things that Spaghetti Squash can do.

While Spaghetti Squash goes in and out of season, much like many celebrities; unlike some celebrities, Spaghetti Squash always comes back into the limelight on top.

Sorry Ms. Hilton but you will never be as powerful as Spaghetti Squash, so you might as well just cook up a batch like the rest of us!

Spaghetti Squash in GiGi's Mouth

But first, to further rub it in your face about how inferior you are to this mighty winter staple, why not check out just how this squash can really do no wrong.

THROW some Spaghetti Squash at me! Or just link up your recipe(s)!

BONUS POINTS, if you link up GiGi-approved dishes! I may just make them on GiGi Eats!

SO TELL ME…

  • Did you have a rough time saying spaghetti when you were younger? Do you recall how you said it?
  • Have you ever used Spaghetti Squash as a bowling ball?
  • How sexy are my hair extensions?
  • Who do you prefer: Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian?
  • Did you know Spaghetti Squash was a fruit, not a vegetable?
  • Do you have a gluten intolerance?Β
  • Who is Mr. Sketti?Β
  • By the way, I can’t actually bash on P. Hilton… One time I was in the same room as her and she came up to me and said, “You’re like, really pretty”… So I guess, I’m like… a “big” fan now. Ha Ha Ha Ha!

Oh No!

  1. You are so adorable. xoxo. :)

  2. It’s squasapalooza around here! Love me some squash! Paris trumps KK any day.

  3. Just when I had forgotten Paris Hilton now I have to do it all over again!

Her or Kim? I’m still in Shock over whatz up with Bruce Jenner!

I love spaghetti squash!! Unfortunately my first time with making one was a near kitchen death experience! I just put it in the microwave let ‘er rip and left the kitchen. A few minutes later I heard this loud explosion!! Returning to the kitchen I saw it was now decorated in cooked spaghetti squash, and I mean almost every surface!! Now I cut the squash or pierce it before cooking.

I wonder if the TSA allows S.S. through their checkpoints?

You are much prettier than Paris Hilton!

    • Dr. J- if you watch the video, I mention…. You can bake the squash and you WON’T have the explosion that you encountered!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!! I have actually had that happen to me with an egg – I microwaved hard boiled eggs at boarding school during lunch announcements and EXPLODED the microwave… Caught it on fire and everything. It was the FUNNIEST thing EVER – but the head master did NOT think so! LOL!

  4. I love Spaghetti Squash! And Yes, keeping our blood sugar in balance is always a plus! I just wrote an article about this last month in my 31 Days, To A Healthier, More “Nutritious” You, Series.

    Healthy blessings
    Gena Livings

  5. I know that this is going to blow your mind – I’ve never had spaghetti squash. I’m afraid that my attempt to prepare it would be similar to Dr. J’s!!! Maybe I will make that a goal for the fall – and maybe I will not tell the boys what they are eating until after the meal.

    • OMG OMG OMG IT IS BLOWING MY MIND!!!! You need to come over and I will force feed you spaghetti squash!!!! Don’t worry about it exploding, in my video I mention that you can bake it in the oven… And even if you don’t have time and want to microwave it, all you have to do it cut it open first – NO explosions will result! lol!

TRY IT ASAP and let me know what you think! :)

  6. Cute! I never knew it was a fruit. Learn something new everyday. Thanks!

  7. Kim K over Paris any day! Don’t hate me for this but I actually don’t love spaghetti squash. It gives my stomach some trouble (avoiding TMI) because of all of the fiber…But I do wish I could eat it daily! Oh welllll

    • OMG OMG OMG! I don’t know if I can handle this! I need to force feed you spaghetti squash until you LOVE IT! lol!!! Actually, no, it will probably just cause more of the TMI tummy trouble – don’t worry, I UNDERSTAND completely!! πŸ˜‰ Small portions might be okay though, no?

  8. Boo on Paris! I’m a LiLo fan. πŸ˜‰

    • Bah ha ha ha!!! I have still yet to run into her…. However, I am not so sure I want to actually RUN INTO her… She might kill me!

  9. I love spaghetti squash. Pasgetti squash. πŸ˜‰ I have this veggie on my grocery list this week!

  10. Most unique take on spaghetti squash ever – ha! My 6 year old says “Spa-betty” which I love. Can’t wait to see all the linked up recipes!

  11. I LOVE spaghetti squash! It’s great when it is warm and caramelized after roasting in the oven…but my favorite way to eat it is actually cold! [Weird, I know…]

    • MMmmm! I love the warm caramelized spaghetti squash! I dream about it, LOL! Oh and you’re not weird, I can eat spaghetti squash in ANY FORM! :) You can find me sitting in front of my fridge with my tupperware full of cold spaghetti squash… digging in! πŸ˜‰

  12. When my kids were growing up, we generally grew Spaghetti Squash, and all enjoyed it. Now we’re off Gluten, and it’s still a fun option!

    • Oh wow!! That’s so cool! I want to grow spaghetti squash! I wish I could but I live in an apartment building… No garden plot near by! LOL

  13. Love spaghetti squash — I cook it normally just with a red meat sauce to fill me up. I’d cook it more if it were easier to cut in half!

    • I have my CUTCO knives to help me! πŸ˜‰ Watch your fingers… But these knives work like a CHARM! You can always soften it up a little in the microwave first, and then cut open with ease!

  14. This lovely squash is in my LUNCH TODAY! Psychic?? Nope, just twinsied up with you girlie!

    • OH SNAPERILLO!!!!!! You must feel EXTRA good about yourself considering it’s so flipping amazing for you! πŸ˜‰

  15. Spaghetti squash is my absolute favorite–I’m such a spaghetti lover but sadly my waist does not appreciate the noodles. Every week I cook up a couple of them and throw salsa or buffalo chicken in and call it a meal. Simple and delicious!

I’m trying to toy with going GF because I always feel bloated after eating…but it’s a hard change to make for me at least!

    • Uh Oh! Are you and I going to fight over the last spaghetti squash at the grocery store? LOL!!!

OOOO I am loving the buffalo chicken spaghetti squash idea! :) You should definitely try going G-Free… While it may sound hard, once you start and see/feel the results, you’re not going to want to go back to your gluten-eating ways!

  16. I have not mastered cooking spaghetti squash. I’ve tried it a couple of times but not gotten it right.

    • Oh my goodness, all you need to do is cut it open and bake it in the oven, just like my video mentions, I promise you, this works! I bake squash at least every two days!

  17. Confession: Are you ready for this? I’ve never had spaghetti squash. I know! And you know what’s worse? I’ve had one sitting in my pantry for like 2 MONTHS and I keep putting off making it because I don’t want my beloved kabocha to get jealous.

  18. I LOVE spaghetti squash!! It’s so amazing!! It’s healthy and tasty :) Love it!

  19. I did NOT know spaghetti squash was a fruit?! Interesting….

  20. I LOOOOOOOVE spaghetti squash! Acorn squash, not so much as I recently discovered. But spaghetti squash, any time!

    • LOL! OOOo I want to hear what happened with you and Acorn?! I have never been a HUGE fan of that squash, really annoying to prepare thanks to it’s weird shape! Butternut squash though… HECK YES! πŸ˜‰

  21. Well I never had this until I met my Granma, as a kid these things were scarce. The hair extensions transformed you into raver girl :) I would prefer not to think about either but most of all the over inflated, egotistical, self aggrandizing talentless (can’t say the rest) and I don’t mean the heiress. I believe her comment to you was sincere, you are very attractive with personality to boot so don’t forget it. Never knew it was fruit, I like it with turnips weird combo. Mr. Sketti ??
Oh those summer salads are just a fond memory now. :(

    • HA HA! I am glad you like my hair extensions – cheaper than the typical wig out here that’s for sure!

And yes, the summer time salads… A faint memory from last week, this week, we’re digging in to some spaghetti squash WINTER “salads” – ha ha! πŸ˜‰

  22. NOOO, this is NOT a fruit. I don’t care WHAT you say, I will never call this a fruit! NO NO NO! HAHA This is my favorite kind of squash, right next to your favorite the butt nutt. YUMO! I sadly haven’t had any squash this fall..I am so behind! No gluten intolerance for me, and I LOVE me my carbs (I run..I need energy!) but once in a while I love this shit instead of regular whole wheat pasta! NOMM!

    • I AM SHOCKED and in complete AWE! You have NOT had any SQUASH YET THIS FALL! WHAT IN THE F?!?!?! LOL! How are we besties?! Yes, I just confirmed to the cyber world that we are best friends. LOL. Let me guess though, you’re saving yourself for an EPIC SQUASH FEAST in 23 days?!?!?!!?!?!?!? YESSSSSS!!!

  23. I made it for the first time last night and thought my kids would go nuts for it. NOPE! Nobody loved it but me (my husband doesn’t eat squash and my au pair said it had no flavor). I put a bolognese sauce over it. I’ll have to check out the other recipes and turn their minds around – I thought it was awesome.

    • I swear spaghetti squash is more of a WOMAN food than a MAN food. My brother and father do not like it either. LOL! Just smother it with delicious sauces, like you did, and it’s BOMB! But I actually really like it all by it self too! πŸ˜‰

  24. Hahaha I think you are hilarious. Can we be friends?

    • WE ALREADY ARE! πŸ˜‰ If you’re even in LA, you NEED to tell me and we get go squash bowling and eat lots of coconut oil and dance in the park with vegetables!

  25. Ha ha ha ha! Oh you like her because she said your were pretty!! I love spaghetti squash and the way you were eating it made me want it more than ever.

    • Exactly. Paris Hilton was NOTHING to me until she said I am pretty! LOL!

I am surprised my “sexy” eating habits actually made you want to eat spaghetti squash MORE! lol!

  26. Now that I am going GF I am going to have to try spaghetti squash so that I can still eat my yummy spaghetti.

  27. I’m ashamed to admit this but *hangs head* I’ve never had spaghetti squash. AHHHHH!!!! GASP!!! I know. I claim to be healthy yet I’ve never sampled this delicious alternative to nasty old spaghetti. Now that I know how to cook it – you bet your sweet sassy I’ll be eating it soon! Thanks GiGi. You’re a genius!

    • WHAHHHHAHAHAHAHA!!! I cannot even say the word because I am so shocked! I cannot wait for you to try it – I EXPECT you to REPORT BACK πŸ˜€

  28. pasketti, as my ex used to call it, is awesome to eat, even on its on, with just a wee bit of coconut oil, s & p. i love your video – my son and i watched it together and we think you.are.aweSOME! p.s. i linked up but the recipe is not my own..it’s borrowed – you’ll see πŸ˜€ xx

    • *own πŸ˜›

    • Coconut Oil… Mmmmm :) I made a video about that AMAZINGNESS a few weeks back… Ha! You and your son can watch that video too if you’d like – he may actually like that one because I put coconut oil ALL over the place, lol!

**PS: I am overly flattered that you both think I am awesome! πŸ˜€

And THANK YOU for linking up :) I am excited to see!

  29. I’m waiting for Paris to get hitched so she can join Auntie Kim on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Can you imagine what an amazing train wreck that would be? :)

  30. You crack me up! I freaking love spaghetti squash. My favorite is just with some tomato sauce and cheese. YUm!!

  31. I’ve never tried spaghetti squash. It’s been on my to do list for a while! And, I had a hard spelling spaghetti when I was little. I pronounced it just fine. xD

    • OMG put it #1 on your to-do list! You have a homework assignment for this weekend, cook and try spaghetti squash and then report back as to what you thought!

  32. The First Lady says “noodles.” Works for spaghethhihihititititt, chow mein, mac and cheese… it’s pretty much the simple solution.

    • But then kids might call them Nude-ELS… And then they will start asking their parents what… Certain parts of the anatomy are! LOL!!!!

  33. The wonders of the Spaghetti Squash never fail to amaze me. That is one genius, delicious food!

  34. I never ever had the SQUASH OF SPAGHETTI EITHER!!!
    I must
    I must

  35. As always yummy….can you believe I have not tried making squash myself…shame shame

    • OMG SHAME FOR SURE!!! Get to your store ASAP and start cooking! I just baked like 20 pounds… The smell inmy kitchen is GLORIOUS! lol

  36. I love spag squash! It’s really good topped with Salmon too hehe

    • Um…. Did you REALLY just say that?!?!?!?!?! I make and eat spaghetti squash and salmon (wrapped up in nori) EVERY NIGHT pretty much, for din din!!!!! We should have a skype meal together considering we totally eat the SAME THING!

  37. Hello love. Please tell me I’m not the only one that when reading “THROW some spagetti squash at me” did to the Def Leppard tune Pour Some Sugar On Me? :)

LOVED the video! I didn’t know about the omega 3’s!

    • AH HA HA HA HA! Well NOW I AM SINGING IT THAT WAY πŸ˜‰

Isn’t it weird that squash have omega-3s!! Just another reason to LOVE EM!

  38. I think I definitely need more spaghetti squash in my life! Like STAT!

  39. Is your new friend going to make some videos with us soon?!?!

Haha, such a cute video and so informative! While I eat spaghetti squash by the boatload, I didn’t know a lot about all of it’s amazing nutritional properties. Thanks for sharing!!

    • Oh you better believe he will be joining us! In fact, he’s currently hanging out in the kitchen, waiting for you! lol!

  40. Do I really have to choose between Paris and Kim? In fact, I don’t really like any of the party-girl group. I’m just not one for the kind of girl who would release a sex-tape to get famous. Oh, I know… It was done to them, right? Yeah… I believe that…

I love spaghetti squash!!! And, since you asked for it:
    http://urbanpaleochef.com/2013/10/25/spaghetti-squash-meat-sauce/

    • SHOOT. Well, I guess I won’t release a sex tape to get famous, because I wouldn’t want you NOT visiting my blog! πŸ˜‰

  41. I just cooked up some spaghetti squash this week and it was pretty darn good! I did not know that it was a fruit not a veg!

  42. Mr Sketti is a nice replacement! Thanks for sharing all the health benefits! My hair extensions are fabulous since you asked πŸ˜‰

  43. I love spaghetti squash so much but cannot eat more than two days in a row. Hmmm…I prefer Kim Kardashian. I find Paris kind of blah…

  44. So many questions!!!! I don’t care about Paris or any of the Kardashians! :)

I always love your videos! Now I know I can bowl with that squash! AND I am too old to even remember if I could say it! πŸ˜‰

  45. I happen to love spaghetti squash and making spaghetti squash boats filled with yumminess! You GiGi are GORGEOUS and HILARIOUS! XO :)
    http://www.prettybitchescancooktoo.com

    • YES! I want to be aboard that boat! πŸ˜‰

And THANK YOU for those compliments!!!! I’ll keep on doing what I am doing!

  46. Sketti Squash is my FAVORITE!!!!!!!!! I am eating it at least 4 times a week right now. Yummers!

  47. My favorites way to eat spaghetti squash is so easy that even I, the creator of the most simple recipes on earth, wouldn’t actually write it up and call it a recipe. Before I roast it, I melt a little coconut oil in the pan, the put it face down to roast. Then add a little more coconut oil, salt and pepper to serve. Simple and oh so good.

  48. I just discovered spaghetti squash a few years ago… I Love it!! So versatile!!! I”m sharing my spaghetti squash pizza crust :) So delicious!!

  49. I just love you! I had no idea that spag squash was a fruit! I LOVE it! Can’t wait to try some of these recipes!

    • πŸ˜€ Well I LOVE YOU too! Thank you for stopping by! Let me know if you do try any of these recipes and if so, which one!

  50. Hair extensions? Who knew? You wear them well.

Absolutely love spaghetti squash but have no recipes to link up (other than bake it baby and when your fork slides in, you’re done).

Paris seems a little rat-like and Kim a little whiny but both ladies are not as dumb as they’d like you to think so as much as they grate on my nerves, I have respect.

    • Ha Ha Ha! That’s quite possibly the BEST and easiest recipe right there!! πŸ˜€ Making a HUGE LOAD tomorrow and I AM PUMPED!

And much agreed, these ladies may LOOK stupid, but they certainly know what they’re doing!

  51. Hey GiGi just wanted to let you know I nominated you for the Sunshine award today on my blog because your hilarious and I’d be great to hear some of your answers :)

    • OMG ELISE!!!!!!! MY LEGS JUST BUCKLED (the equiv. of falling out of a chair – I just stand in front of my desk as opposed to sit, LOL). THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS HONOR, SERIOUSLY!!!! πŸ˜€

  52. A little note regarding sugar, I was standing in the gas station this morning and just started to really look around every item on the shelves was made with sugar, everything. The only thing that was remotely safe were the bananas on the counter. Have you done any research yet on food coloring and metal disorders? I have and it’s scary. I bet Dr. J has seen some interesting papers on this subject.

    • You know what drives me “bananas” (LOL) is that even MEAT has sugar added!!! It’s ridiculous!

And yes, I have done research on food coloring and mental disorders, however there have not been enough long term studies done to determine truly whether or not food colorings can cause mental retardation. That being said, the short term studies tend to say so, so it’s best to find NATURAL food colorings – IE: looking for purple? Use beet powder! πŸ˜‰

  53. Hair extensions? Super hot. Spaghetti Squash? An enormously unbelievably amazing weird little fruit disguised as a vegetable. IT’S A FRUIT?!

Anyway, I’m bookmarking this because of the great link up recipes! Fabuloso!

  54. Hold up, spaghetti squash is a fruit??

  55. Kim and Paris both really irritate me, but Paris is right, you are like, really pretty.
Spaghetti Squash is ah-mazing but Butternut Squash baked in the oven and sprinkled with cinnamon is my little piece of Heaven on Earth. At Thanksgiving I make a carmelized butternut squash with brown sugar and cinnamon and serve it as a dessert, and for the adults, I also serve a nuts and berries cocktail with it….yummmmmmy!

    • OMG I LOVE roasted butternut squash! I make the same dish for Thanksgiving too, minus the sugar because there is no need! πŸ˜€

  56. Spaghetti squash is so fantastically delicious this time of year. So easy to cook with once you get the hang of it. Must go buy one this week!

  57. I’ve never eaten spaghetti squash. Clearly I am not on trend like Paris.

  58. An ode to Spaghetti Squash! Luv it!
Gigi – you gotta check out Mike @ The Iron You’s sketti squash and meatballs recipe – I tried an adapted version this weekend and it knocked my socks off!

    • If I could, I would make an ODE TO SPAGHETTI SQUASH every day! LOL! I am so obsessed with it, it’s not even funny. I just baked up another 10 or so pound batch! mmmm! And I will definitely check out Mike’s recipe! Thanks Sashi!

  59. I heart spaghetti squash! I’m actually a fan of many types of squash, especially butternut squash!

  60. i LOVE spaghetti squash! actually, i pretty much love any squash. my MIL makes THE BEST spaghetti squash – she bakes it, then scrapes it all out, throws in a bit of feta and what i think to be gouda cheese, mixes it all up, broils it for like, 5mins and then it’s basically orgasm in a pan.

  61. I have never had spaghetti squash, can you believe it?! I’ve heard great things but just haven’t tried it yet…guess I better get on it! Not a fan of Paris or Kim…blah,….lol!

  62. Never tried this before! Great idea though, I can’t resist a big bowl of spaghetti. Yum!

  63. Your hair extensions are simply fabulous!! I need to get in on this spaghetti squash stuff, so many good looking recipes!!

  64. I love spag squash. Wow, look at all those amazing recipes! YUM Thanks for linking up at our Gluten Free Fridays party! I have tweeted and pinned your entry to our Gluten Free Fridays board on Pinterest! :)

  66. I’ve only had spaghetti squash a couple of times and sadly, I didn’t really love it. :-( BUT, after reading your post and watching your video, I want to try it again! After all the wonderful things you said about it, I think I’ll eat it anyway! YUM!

    • You may have purchased a not so tasty spaghetti squash. Every so often, there is a DUD. So I think you should try it again, now that they’re in season, you’re more likely to purchase deliciously ripe ones! :) If you do try again, let me know what you think!

  67. I love spaghetti Squash! Its my new favorite thing to eat!

    Whimsical Allure

  68. You are too much!! I love it! And I had no idea spaghetti squash was a fruit … would that make regular yellow squash a fruit, too, since it has seeds as well? AHH! Mind blown!

    • HA HA HA HA AH AH AHA HA! You are correct, regular yellow squash, zucchini, bell peppers, anything with seeds in it, is a FRUIT! I feel like Bill Nye over here, blowing your mind! πŸ˜‰

  69. Oh my God, this was hilarious. I love this!!! I did NOT know spaghetti squash contained ALA. Very interesting.

    Thanks for the laugh :)

  70. Mmm, spaghetti squash!

  71. Wow, she fell off the radar, I forgot all about her and her little dogs too. . . but not spaghetti squash!

  72. Love it! I am a huge spaghetti squash fan! Umm favorite ways to enjoy it…. any way I can!! I love it for dinner in place of pasta or even cooled and in a cold “spaghetti” salad. Or as a base for my a Mexican creation, when I have already had nachos and taco salad for the week, yep Mexican Spaghetti Squash Boats!

  73. HOTTIE! You and the squash!

  74. Love me some spincegetto squash!!! Here’s tasty recipe for ya….http://thehappyhealthfreak.com/2014/03/kale-asparagus-pasta-meatless-monday/
