  1. Thank you for finally posting the answers to last week’s game. Cool on the snowboarding – I think I was wrong. Share pictures!!!

I love cold weather food. Although my definition of cold weather is skewed living here. :-)

    • If I can find some pictures I will certainly post some!! That part of my life was PRE social media, so I have pictures SOMEWHERE – ha ha! So weird to think about PRE social media life, right?

  2. lol!!!! recipe looks awesome and i love your top!! where’s it from??

  3. Yippee – I think I got last week’s game right!!!
And – I’m so glad that y’all said you couldn’t taste the pumpkin – I’m not a huge pumpkin fan but the recipe looks tasty – I love all kinds of chili and can’t wait to try this (probably in my crock pot cause it makes me happy!).

    • HA HA! I wish I had a PRIZE for you?! Can I offer you Zevia Coupons??!! Would you like some NuNaturals stevia drops? I feel like I need to give away something for getting my game right ;) So you just let me know!

And this recipe definitely requests a crock pot… And while we say, “we know you dudes don’t have one of those” what we really mean is – Yeah… We don’t have one! LOL!

  4. Super cute top and the recipe looks delicious as always! I loooove warm meals and chilis (and the thought of a bath of cold gazpacho makes me cringe!)… Just made one this weekend with 99% lean ground turkey and beans… But no pumpkin, bummer! Will have to try this next time. Thanks for the Tuesday morning laughs! And yay- I got 2 truths and a lie right!

    • :D Your recipe for chili sounds so close to ours, minus the DELICIOUS “secret” ingredient. Def try it next time, add a little more than the recipe calls for to get more of a pumpkin taste too –

And the top = Lululemon!!! How funny is that! ;)

  5. Cumin is the key ingredient in chili…at least for me it is. I’ve added cocoa powder to it to before. It’s good :)

  6. I may lose my man-card, but I own a couple of crock pots! I never use them, however :-)

Your chili sounds great!! I actually cooked my Halloween pumpkin after the holiday!

I have both cold and hot meals, but do not eat meat.

  10. Rock the Dude Food!! And Chili? Even better!!

Beef stew!!! :) Even better: Bison Stew!!!!
Umm… I’m from Vermont, and live in NYC… We don’t get winter here. I’m surprised there aren’t as many palm trees in NYC as there are in LA! ;) On a more serious note: it’s true. Getting cold is really not an issue for me. But working out and eating meat always helps!!
Meatless? What is that word? I don’t understand…
Urban Paleo Chef recently posted..Cocoa Slow-Cooked Pork Chops With Baked VegetablesMy Profile

    • I have certainly had bison and elk stews! :) So delicious. And I am going home next week so I am sure I will get more… Oh wait, no, I will be getting TURKEY – But when I go home for Christmas, then yes, yes I will be getting those stews! :)

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND what “meatless” means either, TRUST ME!!! It’s like Chinese. LMFAO! And I hope you tune in tomorrow by the way ;)

      • Mmmm!!! Elk!!! I have got to have some of that! Unfortunately, I have yet to experience the pleasure… I’ve had plenty of venison though! I also had some reindeer that was amazing! I had 3 2-lb steaks, and I grilled it, fried it, and made stew with it. It was just absurdly delicious!
Is there anywhere to get these amazingly awesome game-meats commercially? I can’t find them, even at any of the Farmer’s Markets…

Of course I will be tuning in!!

        • So I have actually been ordering from North Star Bison for the past 11 years of my life. If you do, tell Mary I sent you! She’s AMAZING and so dedicated to offering up the HEALTHIEST and TASTIESt wild/game meats! Seriously, I don’t think I have ever had better bison, elk, ostrich, venison, lamb or goat!!!! At least check out her web site: http://northstarbison.com – The other thing I like is that if you order over a certain LBS you get free shipping, otherwise it’s flat rate of $15 or $25!! Not bad AT ALL!

  11. Dude food cafe- love it! I have a can of pumpkin waiting to be used. I’ll have to try a chili of some sort. Good luck with the Google hangout tomorrow!!

  14. I’m going to try the pumpkin in place of tomato’s looks interesting. I love lamb stew, tricky to cook but really good. I also have a crock pot mainly for venison, the other lean meat. On a cold night I just add another cat to the covers, great little heat generators. To bad you cut the can of beans flying out of Whitney’s hand :)
I got all three correct ;) from last week.

    • First of all: YOU ROCK MY SOCKS OFF that you got last weeks game right ;)

And I ADOREEEEEEEE venison/elk stew! My sister made me such an amazing stew a few years ago and I have craved it ever since!

If you would like to see the Whitney bean FAIL… I can upload it ;) I hope you tune in tomorrow for the Google Hang out because WHO KNOWS what might go WRONG… And it’s LIVE ;)

I would have never thought to put PUMPKIN in chili, but I guess since we have a few weeks left of fall, I should use all the pumpkin I can. Hi Gigi, Your Turkey and White Bean Pumpkin Chili is fabulous! I love comforting food recipes coming to winter season when the only thing on earth you want to do is to sit at the sofa with a cup of something warm and yummy. It is so great that this dish is filled with protein that burns slower than carbs and will keep you warm and satisfied for longer. I am definitely going to make it. I am thinking of omitting the greek yogurt, do you think there is anything I could use instead? Like coconut mil for example? What are your thoughts?

    • This soup is PERFECT for a cozy night in!!! :)

You could certainly use coconut milk yogurt – the greek yogurt was purely a topping – we would have used it instead of sour cream (if we had it when we were making the recipe)… Personally, I don’t even need anything, the pumpkin, turkey and beans were enough for me! :)

  53. Wow! This recipe sounds great! I don’t typically eat a lot of meat but I think I would keep the turkey in this one :)
