Victoria Beckham Needs This Natural Prozac!

You would think Victoria Beckham would be as happy as a clam; I mean have you SEEN her husband?

David Beckham

Well I am full!

Alas, she always looks like someone just ran over her pet kitten.

Victoria Beckham

Again… Wouldn’t she be happy about that?

OKAY: MIND… IN… GUTTER!

Yes, GiGi did say that!

Excuse my immaturity!

I certainly hope all of you don’t look extremely glum these days like Posh. I know it might be hard now that the cookie binge-fest holiday season is officially over!

GiGi is one sad elf now that the holiday season is over

Before you forge your doctor’s signature on a prescription for Prozac (will your health insurance even cover it?), why not check out the latest GiGi Eats video where I expose which ingredient, that you may very well already have in your kitchen, is actually NATURAL PROZAC!

I however do NOT recommend you eat it by the tablespoon. Oh wow. No.

Who is making a reservation at their local Indian restaurant RIGHT NOW?!

SO TELL ME…

  • How are you feeling now that the holidays are FIN-NITO!
  • What’s your favorite herb/spice?
  • Have you ever done the cinnamon challenge?
  • The better question to ask: What’s REALLY in your cup of coffee right now?
  • Indian or Spanish: What cuisine do you like better?
  • Would you punt a soccer ball at Victoria Beckham’s head? If not her, then who?
  • What would you do if David Beckham knocked on your door?
  • Do you believe in the powers of this remarkable ingredient?!?!

OH AND BREAKING NEWSWHITNEY has announced WHAT IS IN STORE FOR BOTH HER AND I STARTING January 22nd!

**WE ARE MORE EXCITED THAN A DOG IS WHEN IT HEARS THE DOG FOOD BAG OPEN!!!**

  1. Ohhhh how interesting! Who knew? Why does Victoria always look so pissy? It makes me pissy that she looks pissy. I mean, it just makes NO SENSE. Favorite spice has gotta be cinnamon!

    • You definitely need to! Yesterday I was on FB and literally 4 people posted about it! I was like: WAIT WHAT? People are stealing my post idea for today! ha ha! But it’s good for LOTS of people to spread the word about this ferocious spice! ;)

  3. I love Indian food… it has always made me happy. Now I know why. Thanks, GiGI.

  4. I would literally rather eat Indian food than any other. Except maybe Italian. I could live and die in those two countries and never go hungry. But let’s talk about Indian food – I tried to make curry all of one time, and mine turned out SO hot that I couldn’t even finish one helping. And I LOVE curry, so that was very sad indeed. From now on, I’ll be ordering take out.
Amy @ Long Drive Journey recently posted..Chunky Potato Leek SoupMy Profile

    • I need to take you for some Persian Cuisine – THAT is the food I just cannot STOP eating!!

And maybe I will attempt to make CURRY in an episode of GiGi Eats… And NOT making it too spicy as I am not really a spice kind of person!

      • Hmmmm I think I’ve tried Persian cuisine once, maybe? But it was in the midst of a mishmash of foods so I can’t remember it well!

Anyway, awesome and hilarious video! :D I actually used to use turmeric all the time in my chickpea salads and stopped for some reason, but now I’m thinking I should go back to it. I wholeheartedly believe in the power of natural foods and spices so I try to incorporate them almost all the time. In my opinion a lot of those natural ingredients are lacking in American food, and when you add that factor to an overstressed American culture where we get no breaks whatsoever, we are more prone to feeling depressed. (Of course, I understand there’s the chemical factor, but you get the idea)
And one of mine and my husband’s favorite cuisines is Indian and Korean. :D Of course, if one isn’t used to eating Korean food then they better get ready for some burning derriere syndrome, lol!
Ellie@Fit for the soul recently posted..Scenes from the WeekendMy Profile

        • Ah h ha ha ha ha ha ha! Burning Derrirer Syndrome would certainly happen to me! AH HA!

You couldn’t be more right. The most prominent spice in America is salt. And while salt is not necessarily EVIL, it had far less health benefits that Turmeric and any other herb and spice out there. American palates are far too acustom to SALT – they need to try and adapt their taste buds to herbs and spices so they don’t have to use salt so much! Less high blood pressure!

  5. A friend of mine from India makes tea with turmeric, but he uses the root, not the powder (and I couldn’t find anywhere!)
Another thing I’ve learned (the hard way) is that turmeric stains clothes, badly. The fact that Indians use it as a dye should have been a clue, but I wasn’t perspicacious enough… :(
Mike @TheIronYou recently posted..Yogurt, The Power SnackMy Profile

    • I have seen that tea before, but like you I have also failed to find the actual root! I wanted to buy it for the sake of this video, alas I failed and said, well, I could always print out a picture, LOL!

Hey, if you ever want to have a natural tye-dye T-SHIRT party… Grab the Turmeric… Blueberries and Raspberries! ;)

  6. Your videos are great!! I like and use many herb and spices but if I have to pick one, basal is my fav! The story is that it was named that as it was found growing at the foot of the cross! I like that basilica tale.

If David Beckham came by, seeing as I played soccer in college, I’d get the black and white ball out and kick it around with the super-star!

Exercise bends around anything as the best anti-depressant there is :-)

    • THANK YOU for your support EVERY SINGLE Tuesday Dr. J! :) I definitely like BASIL too – it just has a je ne sais quoi!

And you couldn’t be more right! Not going to lie, I had a bit of a crazy episode this morning right before I went to work out, and now… SO MUCH BETTER! THANK YOU endorphins!

  7. I’m going to DOWN an entire bottle right now b/c I’m sick and I can’t take it anymore!!! I’m starting to look like Victoria around here – all mad and glum and bitchy. Boooooo!!!! That picture of David is making me happy though so thank you for that.

You’re sick AGAIN!!! WTF – NO! I always take quercetin, vitamin D and probiotics – they keep me SICKNESS FREE!

  8. If anyone suffers from Resting Bitchface Syndrome it’s Posh. :) I remember a long time ago when Dr. Oz was on Oprah and had talked a lot about turmeric as this wonderful thing. Pretty amazing how certain foods are way better than western medicine!

  23. As always I learn something new from GiGi, I also can’t believe the super snooty mustard has no turmeric in it !! Please don’t pass it to me :) I hope some recipes are posted here I have never bought or cooked with it. A friend just brought back some mustard from Spain, (TOMY) looks like a tube of tooth paste, I have to look a see if it’s in there. No cinnamon challenge, I love rosemary , authentic Spanish cuisine is good but Central American is really good. Black coffee for me :) I don’t need either Beckham knocking at my door. I believe, our brain runs off what we eat.

    • Remember the meat muffins? Whitney and I put some mustard in those! I also love mustard on everything, it tastes especially amazing on MEAT and actually, if you combine it with shallots, olive oil and a little white wine, and then spread it over a salmon fillet and bake it… You will sink your teeth into pure perfection once cooked!! 56. Fresh turmeric, onions, garlic and ginger are a base for just about every savory dish I make – IT. IS. SO. GOOD4U. INDEED.
Now lets go find Victoria and chuck some turmeric at her! :)

    And agreed! Turmeric is AWESOME!!!

  59. Ooo! I absolutely love Indian food (some of my favorite besides Mexican!) This is so good to know. I actually have a Groupon for a local Indian restaurant. I’ll have to use it within the next week or so :) I’m craving Indian food now!

    • I wish I liked Indian as much as you, I am not much a heat person when it comes to food, but I MUST TRYYYY!!! And yes, go use your groupon – before you know it, it will expire, LOL!

  60. I love Indian food. It’s a staple in my family. My Mom makes amazing curries, tandoories, and naan bread. She rocks. Whenever we meet, we are going for Indian food and sushi. Then, we’ll have mustard.

  61. Love love LOVE LOVE love love TURMERIC! And love that you did a post on it!

When it comes to spices, my face is definitely saffron. Turmeric is definitely up there in usage and love! <3
I'll definitely need to come up with a good recipe for you to check out and maybe cover!

    • YES PLEASE DO!! I wish we could cook some TOGETHER like… TOMORROW! :( Kabobs rubbed in turmeric! ha!

Saffron = ALSO SUPER HEALTHY! I actually did a post on that back in the day!

  62. Posh is too cool to crack a smile.

  63. I tried a Vegan recovery drink at a race once, and could taste the tumeric (I think it was there for the anti-inflammatory properties). I love Indian food, but it doesn’t come into the house too often (being crowded out by Sushi and Thai)…

Every time I have to shake a bottle (kids medicine, salad dressing, whatever), I hear “Shake It, shake it, shake it! Hacha!” in my head (and soon, you will too) – it’s from Spice Up Your Life by the Spice Girls… so I could never punt a soccer ball at Posh Spice.

  64. While this explains a lot about me (I’m not an Indian food fan so no natural prozac #sadpanda) it doesn’t help with Posh. I mean Vicki. I think she’s bitter because her heyday 15 minutes was spent so long ago. But really.. how can you be bitter living with ThAt?! Thanks for hooking us up at #LOBS!!

  65. confession: i never liked the beckhams. when i was in italy, i was in the gucci store on the top floor and they closed the place down (with me in it!) because she came into the store and wanted her ‘privacy’ to shop. those who were stuck in there with me were trying to get a peek at her but i was trying to get out! i don’t care about victoria beckham. she’s only popular because of her husband.

anyhoo, my favorite spice is paprika.

  66. Good ol’ Posh has been practicing that pouty face for a couple of decades now, amirite? She seems like the type of girl who probably practices looks in front of the mirror for hours, and she probably determined at some point that she looked better pouting than she does smiling.

Which is wrong of course, everybody looks better with a smile!

    • Ah ha ha ha ha! Oh I bet it’s on her to-do list every day, “practice The Posh Pout” – Ridiculous. I wonder how much she gets paid to make it EVERY DAY. Doesn’t she know what FROWN LINES are? ;)

  67. I’m cilantro obsessed lately, I eat a bunch every single day. I find it works on anything and everything (almost, maybe not brownies – although it still sounds pretty great). I would invite David in. Have you heard his voice? Not sure if it’s cute or I would just tell him not to talk.

    • Cilantro is the bomb! And the coolest thing about it is that it’s a heavy metal detoxifier! So if you eat a lot of high mercury seafood, cilantro helps negate some of the adverse affects! :D

I don’t understand how some people think cilantro tastes like soap!

  68. He might be beautiful but his lack of brains would make me want to run over my pet cat…

When I was little I put cinnamon on everything! And I mean everything. One time I gashed my leg open and because I thought cinnamon had healing powers I poured cinnamon all over it. Either that was a sign I am destined to be a shaman of sorts or I had a fucked up childhood…I’ll let you determine this one.

    • I’ve never heard him speak, lol… So I really don’t know if David is intelligent or not. But maybe he has had one too many soccer balls to the head?

DUDE I BET THAT CINNAMON CURED YOUR GASH in about 5 minutes!!!!!!!!! That’s what doctors SHOULD be using but nope, the government doesn’t want to admit that it’s that easy!

  71. I have watched people do the cinnamon challenge, and I think it’s hilarious!

  72. So cute! Correction though: turmeric and curcumin are NOT interchangeable. Curcumin is the pigment in curcumin and what’s responsible for its many benefits. Also curcumin is not absorbed well by the body. To increase its absorption by 2000% it needs to be taken with black pepper. (and fat!)

    • Yes yes that is what I knew, apparently I did not explain that clearly enough! But thank YOU for clarifying this for everyone, I appreciate that. And I have DEFINITELY heard that you can absorb turmeric far more with black pepper – that’s so weird, but equally COOL :) Lets get spicy!
