Tara Reid Eats Too Many Creamsicles

Tara Reid and Creamsicles have a lot of similar not so sexy attributes…

Tara Reid and Creamsicles have a lot in common

But to name just two...

They’re both orange (most of the time)…

And… They’re both full of artificial chemicals and ingredients.

GiGi Dubois grossed out

Sorry Tara, I just couldn’t resist.

If the saying, “you are what you eat” is true… Then Tara must be subsisting solely on Creamsicles (okay, and maybe Cheetos as well).

Cheetos shaped like a penis

Sadly, I don’t think I will be able to save Tara from her demons, however, all is not lost for the Creamsicle, because I have come up with a way to save it from its unattractive qualities…

BEHOLD… The Creamless Creamsicle!

Healthy protein packed creamsicle recipe

Vanilla, Orange & Strawberry Sherbert “Creamsicle”

  • 1 cup unsweetened, Vanilla Coconut Milk
  • 10 grams Vanilla Protein Powder (I used NuZest)
  • 10 grams Strawberry Protein Powder (I used NuZest)
  • 1/4 cup Coconut Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Xanthan Gum
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Orange Juice from Fresh Orange

This is how you get CREAMED!

This is how you make healthy creamsicles

SO TELL ME…

  • Creamsicles, yay or nay?
  • Are you ready for FALL or do you think SUMMER went by too quickly?
  • Do you think Tara Reid can be saved?
  • Do you think the Original Creamsicle could KILL Great White Sharks?
  • What’s your favorite ORANGE food?

Yay for healthy creamsicles!BY THE WAY… BLISSFUL BRITT is VISITING ME THIS WEEK!!!! Off to Santa Monica, Venice, Malibu, Hollywood, DisneyLand, and MOREEEE we go!

Comments

  1. You kinda of rock my socks. Like a lot. All of these craving satisfying foods that I neeeevver (almost never) buy, I can now consume (okay stuff my face with) sans ick tastic chemicals. And perhaps as my kid gets older, I’ll share these things with him, and he won’t ask to buy the artificial crap at stores. Hopefully…

And as usual, you get me cracking up :)

    • Right?! I love that I can shovel in tons and tons of my creations 😉 You better believe I ate my first failed attempt of this recipe because while it wasn’t 100% right, it was still good and super healthy. I don’t like wasting food, LOL! I hope your son will one day appreciate healthier foods, it takes time!

  2. Wait, what’s going on with Tara? Has she admitted to a mental disorder or are people just attacking and speculating it? I’ve never heard of the actress until today(thanks for the 101, Gigi!)

  3. Hey cute girl, love the recipe and thanks for the giggle. I’ve never put coconut flour in my smoothies, what a great idea! I would use psyllium husks to thicken instead of the xanthan gum that upsets my stomach, but otherwise it looks yummy and I can’t wait to try it out.

    • Xanthan gum sometimes (but not always) hurts my stomach too, and ha! I had psyllium husk in my cabinet, thank you for the suggestion, I’ll totally try it out next time! 😉

  4. YAY!! Something very good about that orange and vanilla combination!

A great choice to healthify, GiGi!!

We have a long summer in North Central Florida, so too soon to put the bathing suit or sunblock away :-)

I can’t pick on Tara because everyone is fighting some kind of battle. Hers is just more visible.

    Sweet potato rocks orange!

    • Oh same here, the bathing suits will be around indefinitely here too Dr. J! ha ha, I am not sure if that’s a good or bad thing?

And I agree, everyone is fighting a battle for sure (I am right now too in fact), but as a public figure, I just had to take a little dig 😉

  5. lol…hilarious post :) I used to love an Orange Julius from the mall when I was a kid and this seems like it would be so much better!

    • Yes, yes it is! :) Hopefully when you try to make it, it reminds you of your childhood! Back when there were no worries! ha.

  6. Wow hello! Take me with you on your adventures, sounds AMAZING!!!

Funny take down, as always, on creamsicles! Your alternative looks suppppahhh awesome, expect where in the world do you get xantham gum? Prbly whole foods store:)

Gah! I am SO sad summer is waving it’s pearly hands goodbye. We live in a 130 y/o cottage that..we’ll just say doesn’t have the best heating haha. Utah winters KILL me!

You’re awesome Gigi! Have a crazy great week!!

    • Bring on the 18 fleece jackets, right? I am from WY so I definitely understand your “affinity” (LOL) to the cold weather!!

And you can get Xanthan Gum anywhere these days, and/or just order it on line – The internet is your bestie 😉

I hope YOU have a crazy good week too!

  7. I have never been a real creamsicle fan, but this protein shake sounds good!! YUM!

  8. LOL- yes tara reid IS a creamsicle!! I love your creamsicle recipe! and yes im now imagining ninja creamsicle roundhousing kicking a pumpkin spice latte and its the best image ever 😀 Have fun with Brittany!!

  9. This recipe looks gurrrrd.

  10. Sometimes I miss my ignorance too! But I lost that the day I was born.

  11. OMG. That cheeto. Definite entertainment! YAY to creamsicles. And YAY to fall. I’m sick and tired of sweating my ass off the moment I step outside!!!

    • RIGHT?!?!?! Sweating is over rated! Bring on the cooler temps! However, I have a feeling come January we will be singing a different TUNE! lol

  12. Creamsicles – heck yes! What a brilliant idea to add vanilla and strawberry protein powder with that coconut milk and OJ!
Summer went by way too quick – but am gonna sit by a fire and chug this creamsicle or those pumped up pumpkin spice smoothies thru winter – and pretend it’s summer! :)

    • I am going to do exactly the same thing… Blast the heat, light a fire, something… And suck down some ice cool treats while in a bikini, LMFAO!

  13. You are so bad, poor Tara and her sharpai butt . . 😉

  14. It took me a while! I couldn’t think of an orange food other than Cheetos I like. Is orange cheese naturally orange? I don’t know but I like it! I can tolerate carrots and honey dew melons but otherwise I have a prejudice against orange veggies and fruit. If you had ever seen the horror of my mother’s squash or crinkle cut frozen carrots you would understand!

    • AH HA HA HA!!! Aw man, I am really sad your mother ruined orange foods for you! The only orange food my mother ruined for me is sweet potatoes…. Ugh! Don’t ask! lol

  15. Oh, I love this! I’ve just recently started drinking a shake with coconut milk, yogurt and pineapple but I’d love to change it up with the orange! YUM!
Poor Tara Reid is not save-able, lol. I can’t stand it that summer is gone – I am SO not ready. Last winter was the worst ever and it’s supposed to be bad again. I’m coming to live with you in sunny CA!
Another great post and video, GiGi! Always look forward to my visits here :)

    • Ugh, I have definitely heard that this winter is not going to be too good…. BRACE yourself :)

And I yes, DO – SHAKE IT UP with the orange instead of pineapple! 😉 Maybe a little strawberry too! WOO WOO! Thank you so much for always lightening up my Tuesday with you comments!

  16. Once upon a time, I used to love creamsicles (until I started thinking about what’s in them…). Your healthified version sounds good!

I love summer (partially because I work less), but I’m actually ready for fall, but I think it’ll be a while… :)

    • Ha Ha, at least you still have some summer left! :) Who knows if Los Angeles will ever experience fall, lol. It’s so flipping hot right now! 😉

Let me know what you think of these scrumptious pops if/when you try them!

  17. I LOVE Creamsicles! I really wish Tara Reid would eat SOMETHING! Geez! This looks like a great recipe to try. Thanks for sharing!

  18. Haven’t done anything with coconut flour yet but everyone seems to be all over it. She looks like she needs an intervention of some sort. LOL

    • I am OBSESSED with coconut flour, I cannot get ENOUGH AT ALL!!! It’s ridiculous and kind of bad actually because I just dream about it!

  19. Geeeg this sounds/looks amazing! When we hang next week, can you make these for me? Orrrr the fudge-sicles… or both?! Love it. And the Tara Reid thing is brilliance, hehe. Xox

  20. That is completely badass! Thanks!

  21. I’m not a creamsicle fan – mostly because I don’t like any type of shake/ice cream….product.
However, I do love Cheetos (the puffy kind) – I try to limit my intake – don’t want to turn orange:)

  22. I’m not a fan of Tara Reid OR Creamsicles. However, I AM interested in where one might buy Xanthum gum??? Say what now?

  23. As perverted as I am… I have never thought of a Cheeto that way. Thanks for that.

  24. Hahaha you’re awesome. And kinda not… because now I can’t eat fudgsicles or creamsicles darnit?! Haha, just will have to make your version :)

  25. Your version of creamsicle sounds amazing. Thank you for sharing.

  26. My boss saw Tara Reid once down in Mexico. Said she was a complete hot mess. Let’s blame it on the other type of chemicals she ingests…

    • EXACTLY! That is exactly what I am blaming it on! Ugh. Hot mess…. She was hot because of the weather, and she’s just a mess. I now know the origin of the phrase. I should URBAN DICTIONARY it and see if her name comes up, LOL!

  27. Cream me up, buttercup?! Orange-coloured anything this time of the year makes me think of pumpkin. On that note I’ve never had a creamsicle before – again, not a thing over here.
My favourite orange food – or should I say natural self-tanner??! – is kabocha. It doubles as my favourite green food on occasion. Or one my favourite foods in general.
If you’re going to test your White Shark + Creamsicle question we can’t be friends anymore. No animal testing. Ask Brittany – she’ll agree here 😉 .

    • Well, Brittany is actually RIGHT NEXT TO ME IN LOS ANGELES… And she says………. HELL NO! WE SHOULD NOT FEED Great White Sharks Creamsicles!

  28. Ok That can’t be the Tara Reid I remember, if it is she needs food and like yesterday. I’m sure someone said “Oh Tara you look great” and their nose grew about 12″ Your creamsicle is great, I will have time again soon to make your treats with Buggs and friends :) I can’t talk about snow or even think about the cold, I need to find a job in a warm state. Sharks are to smart to eat an original creamsicle,, they like healthy things. New realty show, Let’s feed Tara Reed

  29. Yummy!!! These look amazing :)

  30. I think she was saved by Sharknado and Sharknado II!!
    (not really)
I love creamsicles. I think. I’ve never had one. I like YOUR idea of a creamsicle, though.
My favorite orange food is sweet potatoes!

  31. I am thinking to make a fall flavoured creamsicle with pumpkin and Greek yogurt..summer or Fall..it’s still warm enough to enjoy a good pop.

  32. Gah I used to find Tara so pretty back in the day- she’s look terrible now!! As for your creamsicles- they look fabulous! Although I usually prefer ice cream, I would certainly not turn down a creamsicle :)!

  33. I see Cheetos in a whole new light. I think they might become the new staple at Bachelorette parties!

    • BAH HA HA HA HA HA HA! If I am ever throwing a Bachelorette Party, I will definitely include them…. Wait, no, I will create a recipe makeover for those nasty chemical laden snacks and shape them into… Well, you know 😉

  34. You are a creamsicle.

What are we doing when I visit?

  35. YUM! I’m not ready to say goodbye to summer yet! these look delicious. I need to look up Nuzest!

  36. now i’m curious about NuZest. Tara.. not so much. She’s long gone and shriveled. like that Cheeto.

  37. Yay to creamsicles!!! <—-at least the non-creamy kind!

  38. Ooooooh! Coolness! Creaminess! Orangeness! (is that even a word?)
I love creamsicles! It is my go to pool side snack :)

  39. Tara… I am sorry every time I see pics of her. I remember when she was at the top of her game and then went on a downward spiral. Where is she these days? I’m gonna have to google it. This recipe sounds delicious and easy to make!

  40. Do you just blend it together and freeze it or what? Is xanthan gum kosher to eat? That image of the Cheeto is awesome!!! And wtf is wrong with Tara Reid? That image is disturbing as all heck!! Someone needs to help that chick out.. Happy Hump Day GiGi! -Iva

    • Yes! Blend all these ingredients together and freeze :) Or you can just eat it unfrozen, still really flipping good! ha ah!

You and I should take Tara out for some SUSHI, yes? LOL!

  41. Hey there girl! I remember the “old” kind from childhood. I haven’t heard one forever, I can’t wait to try your healthy one!! xo

  42. The PSL is god awful, and I can confidently say that as a proud Starbucks barista! I think my favorite orange thing is…an orange? Is that boring…maybe buttnutt cause I’m with you right now and you love that shit. OFF TO DISNEY WE GOOOO OMGAAHH! I am so jazzed to be here…right now…in your living room…on your computer…writing this comment. I wish you saved one of these for me though. Swoon.

    • I ONLY MADE ONE! AH HA HA HA!!! Cuz the other one I fuckkkkeedddd uppppp… However, I totally ate it anyways cause uh…. WE HATE WASTE!!! 😉

Which brings me to my next point: we are NOT wasting our day tomorrow at DISNEY!!!!

  43. hahaha hillarious!
If it wasn’t so cold here in the UK, I would so be making this.

  44. i have to say, creamsicles are supper yummy, but i couldn’t tell you the last time i ate one. staying away from that frozen section of the grocery store. your alternative sounds delicious!

  45. Tara is a crazy lady BUT your creamsicle is PERFECT!!!! I love that flavor!!!! Ate them as a kid! :)

OK – did you take a good look at that cheeto picture Gigi??? :)

  46. Yes we are ready for FALL, but we do already miss the hot summer days :) Can we have a mix of both?? PLease 😉

We hope Tara can be saved. Thinking of you. We think she would love your creamsicles!

  47. hahah you never fail to make me laugh..both orange..both artificial.
I’ve never been the biggest creamsicle/orange flavored dessert fan..BUT, just mixed whipped vodka with orange juice for a creamsicle tasting drink..SO GOOD.

and my favorite orange food? Is that a question? PUMPKIN!

    • BAH HA! Right? My orange food question is a pretty STUPID ONE, but you never know!! I have met people who don’t like pumpkin!!! **GASP**!

And girllllllll are you drinking that alcoholic creamsicle right now? You could totally slip some vodka in this recipe LOL!

  48. Love creamsickles! Think Tara Reid looks pretty scary. Too orange, too skinny. You, though, always look marvelous darling. Hope you had fun at Disneyland!

  49. Actually my favorite ORANGE food is pumpkins! But this looks good too.

  50. GiGi, what’s up with that cheeto? I swear, I feel like we’re back in elementary school… lol
That creamsicle sure looks good though (unlike Tara Reid!)

  51. Creamsickles are a yay! Your recipe looks tasty! Poor Tara though!

  52. Sorry, girl I’m behind on your posts! Anyways, lol at that pic! Seriously, why sooooo tan and what happened to her? She used to be nice and curvy, she is soooo skinny now. I hate that celebrities don’t think they look beautiful as is. She looked just great before. Anyways, this creamsicle looks delicious….would you believe I have never had one before though?!

    • I just FELL OUT OF MY CHAIR! Youuuuuu have never had a Creamsicle before? Well, they’re not vegan… However – MY VERSION IS! 😀 😀

  53. Hi GiGi,
What a healthy, delicious, “additive and chemical free” treat! Thank you for sharing your Vanilla, Orange & Strawberry Sherbert “Creamsicle” smoothie with us at the Healthy, Happy, Green and Natural Party Blog Hop. I can’t wait to make this!

  54. Hahaha OMG you never fail to crack me up pretty Gigi…….the Tara Reid thing is GENIUS!!!!! And I will definitely give this yummy delight a try this weekend!!

  55. I’m sorry but the phrase ‘too many creamsicles’ has not been registered.
Please try again after the tone.

    😉 I LOVE your recipe!!!

    Cheers
    Choc Chip Uru

  56. Looks tasty! I was so into these as a kid but haven’t had one in years. Might have to try the faux version instead

    • Yes, you definitely need to try the faux version! It will bring back some memories but hopefully NOT CRAVINGS for the originals! 😉

  57. She needs to make your Creamless Creamsicle but she needs to have 2 of them. She looks like she just got out of a concentration camp. #wowlinkup

  58. “Both are orange”– ha ha! LOVE IT. Truth be told– seeing pictures of her makes me sad. A walking skeleton…… no bueno.

    But your recipe looks AMAZING!!

    • Hey, at least Tara is ready for Halloween right? She doesn’t have to buy a costume, she can just be a Creamsicle, a skinny pumpkin or a bag of bones? lol

  59. Holy crap, that is NOT an attractive picture of Tara Reid. Yikes! Your Creamsicle shake looks amazing and I happen to have all of the ingredients sitting in my kitchen right now. I think I need to make this tomorrow. YUM!

  60. Your version of creamsicle YAY and now if I can only get my children to drink it. I NEED help with these little critters. I am hoping the orange juice will make them want to try it. #wowlinkup

    • Ha ha! Well, I hope ONE DAY they realize that healthy foods can be tasty! It definitely took me awhile, I mean, I remember running away from home because my mom tried to feed me salmon for dinner, and now I cannot go ONE DAY without it!

  61. Okay, so I actually HATE anything Cremsicle flavored, orange and cream just does not go! In my opinion 😛
I used to LOVEEEEEEE cheesedoodles, crunchy and white puffy. I would eat entire bagfuls, LOL. And poor tara reid, girl needs to cool it on the tanning bed!

  62. You are Adorable!…
    But WTH happened to Tara??

  63. What a fun post! Love the recipe! Thanks for coming and linking up at The Weekend Social. All posts get pinned in our pinterest board! Please be sure to come back next week starting Thursdays at 9PM EST on culinaryflavors.gr ! I hope to see you there!

  64. When I first read that title, my first thoughts were Tara Reid doesn’t eat ENOUGH creamsicles! Lol, waay too skinny.
I am loving this recipe! Genius idea, and looks easy enough for me to throw together 😀

  65. So excited to see a healthy version of my beloved creamsicle! That was one of my favorite desserts when I was a kid. I don’t eat them anymore but whenever I see them, I always feel like reminiscing. AND…both are orange…you are hilarious!

  66. Tara Reid is absolutely a lost cause and most certainly consumes too many creamsicles and phallic shaped cheetos! Your recipe on the other hand looks refreshing and delicious- not always a creamsicle fan but this looks pretty amazing for when I’m in the mood 😉

  67. Oh my goodness girl, you are too funny. Thanks for the belly laugh and for sharing at Foodie Fridays this week. I hope to see you back again and am looking forward to reading with you come up with next!
    Blessings,
    Shari

    • :) I am glad I could make you laugh Shari!!!! I hope you enjoy the recipe too, I will certainly be linking up again this week!

  68. It may be too late for Tara, but thank-you for saving us with this cream less creamsicle.

  69. …”They’re both full of artificial chemicals” ahahahh I’m still laughing!
p.s. This creamsicle is actually a Dreamsicle!

  70. Yum! I love that this creamsicle is good for you. It sounds delicious! Thanks for sharing it with Hump Day Happenings.

  71. Hi GiGi,
What a healthy, satisfying way to kickstart the day! Yum! I have most of the ingredients on hand so I am making myself a Creamsicle smoothie too!! Thank you so much for sharing your healthy and delicious smoothie with us at the Healthy, Happy, Green and Natural Party Blog Hop. I’m pinning and sharing!
