As some of you may know…

I used to competitively… Snowboard, horseback ride and tumble (yes, I used to competitively throw myself on the ground in a “fancy” fashion)!

This is about as close to horseback riding in general I get these days!! You ready for ROUND TWO Britt?

Or maybe you didn’t know any of this about me, and I am just blowing smoke up my colon thinking everyone in the world is stalking me…

Wait, what colon?

GiGi-Eats-Celebrities-Disgusted

Any who… What’s funny about my competitive past lives is that… I am really not a competitive person at all.

Me + Competition = Kim Kardashian + Clothing

It just doesn’t happen anymore.

You see… I am really not a sore loser and I could give a rat’s booty if I lose a game of Words With Friends (if you play… Lets tango).

What’s up with all this rump talk?

Who knows… My brain works in mysterious ways.

GiGi-Brain

But just to reiterate… I have absolutely NO PROBLEM acting as a cheerleader for others who want to take down their opponent(s). I just love to flail about without a care in the world (I mean, check out my video below for proof).

That all being said… There are a lot of you who CRAVE standing on the highest podium, gold medal around your neck, bouquet of flowers cradled in your arms, feeling as though you have tiger blood running through your veins… Proud that you have proven that you’re ANYTHING BUT BASIC… Which is why… I am about to let you in on a little competition.

Pass GiGi the Football!

Foster Farms You know… The company that produces humanely-raised chicken products… Is holding a competition that all you competitive peeps will want to sink your teeth into. Literally.

GiGi eating squid!

This “clucking” awesome company… Wants YOU to prove that their All Natural Sliced Turkey lunchmeat can be transformed into a sandwich that’s anything but “basic”… Or in other words: Turkey, Swiss and Mayo on White Bread just ain’t going to cut it, folks!

Before you jet to your kitchen to start creating your stacked masterpiece

Which, by the way, when your double (or triple) decker is completed, you should take a picture of it, post it on Instagram and in the caption include the list of ingredients, as well as @FosterFarms and #DontCallMeBasic*…

Get drunk or roll in the dough… You decide!

One thing you don’t need to decide though, is what kind of turkey you should be using for your recipes… Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey lunchmeat should be what your mitts grab in the refrigerator section of the grocery store because…

  • All natural, nitrate/nitrite free
  • No hormones or steroids
  • No preservatives
  • Foster Farms All Natural Lunchmeat is unique in that it uses high pressure pasteurization to eliminate bacteria and seal in PURE flavor INSTEAD of using natural preservatives like vinegar as an antimicrobial, which often results in a sour aftertaste
  • Does not contain wheat, milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts or soy
  • 35% lower sodium, 100% taste

And only to motivate you to sandwich your way into this competition, here’s a coupon so you can save a dollar off their meat!

I know you may all now be insanely distracted now thinking about sensational flavor combinations that include glorious low-calorie, high-protein turkey breast… Remember the “moist maker” sandwich from Friends… Well, I guess you wouldn’t if you never watched that show… BUT I have a recipe to share with you today that just so happens to include Foster Farms juicy meat. Perhaps it will fuel your creativity?

gigi-eats-celebrities-foster-farms-turkey

Nope. It’s not a sandwich, because common, I just told you I am not competitive (and you HOPEFULLY know by now that I cannot eat bread)! That being said… This recipe does showcase Foster Farms Turkey in all it’s glory!

TEGG Cakes

Tegg-Cakes-Turkey-Eggs

  • 1 package Foster Farms All Natural Turkey Breast Lunchmeat
  • 6 Eggs
  • 1/2 Yellow Bell Pepper
  • 1/2 Red Bell Pepper
  • 1/2 Orange Bell Pepper
  • 1 Strip Grass-fed Beef Bacon
  • 1/6 White Onion, diced
  • Garlic & Paprika to taste
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  1. Line a cupcake pan/muffin tin/tegg cake holder with cupcake liners (or spray pan with non-stick cooking spray) and line each tegg cake holder with 2 slices of turkey.
  2. Add a teaspoon of diced onion on top of the turkey in the tray.
  3. Crack one egg into each tegg cake mold.
  4. Season each tegg cake with salt, pepper, paprika and garlic.
  5. Bake in the oven at 350 – 380 for roughly 30 to 40 minutes.
  6. As the teggs cook, dice up the bell peppers and set aside.
  7. After 20 minutes, cook the bacon, either in the oven with the cakes (I just layed it on the side of the tegg cake holder), or on the stove in a non-stick skillet.
  8. When teggs are done, remove them from the oven, let cook for about 10 minutes, top with bell pepper sprinkles and crumbled pieces of bacon… Drip some bacon grease on top too if you wish… And wolf em down!
