It’s pretty great when you can do that! It also depends on the grocery store you go to – if you go to Sprouts Farmer’s Market – their organic produce tends to be less expensive!

Between organic and non-organic options at the supermarket, i typically go for the organic one. I prefer to pick organic foods within my budget and find that i can buy a lot more than i thought i could 🙂

FARMED SALMON IS EVERYWHERE!!! The only farmed salmon I trust is WHOLE FOODS farmed salmon because they use humane practices – and feed their fish healthfully! Trust me, I have done LOTS of research, ha ha ha! I honestly have ZERO problem paying extra for certain things when it comes to eating because I mean, would you really want to pay MORE LATER on medical bills? !

I spend so much money on good, quality food too….it’s crazy!! And after reading a bunch of negative stuff lately about farmed salmon and sea lice and all the stuff they treat the farmed salmon with to get rid of the sea lice, I’ve recently decided that I’m not eating farmed salmon anymore, only wild. And it’s unreal to see how much more common farmed salmon is around here than wild. I saw a side of salmon the other day and it was marked ‘organic’; I was so excited….and when I inspected closer, it said that it was farmed. Ugh. Though, it’s a nice bit different in taste to me, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. I’m so particular with the food I eat and want to make sure that it’s good and good for me, ya know??

I am thrilled to hear that you know how lucky you are that you get to obtain your food from local farmers and fishermen!! That is few and far between these days in the states – I am envious!! I bet that fish is SENSATIONAL!!!!

Excuse me, where can I complain here? 😉 There is way too much fun going on here, it keeps distracting me from concentrating on the quintessence 😉 LOL Where do you find all these funny images? Not gonna tell you much about organic food, you are the expert. I am pretty privileged I believe, living on a small(ish) island where so many locals are still farmer or fishermen, where I can grow my own herbs and tomatoes on my balcony all year through is awesome. Agriculture is a big thing here and I love it. Not only is organic a lot healthier, it does also taste much better.

Yes – the US is heavily flawed and while it is starting to figure itself out (sort of), it will be a long while until we see any real change. That being said, this initiative is a step in the right direction! The UK is definitely ontop of their organic game!

Oh it’s totally normal to have trust issues because there is such corruption in the US and around the world, but I just try to think positively as much as I can because not EVERYONE and THING can be all that bad, right? Thank you for reading Sara! I know I appreciate it as well as GROorganic!

Organic foods are definitely better for everyone and the environment so having a board to govern it would be useful. My little ‘negative’ self immediately says, “well, if they just have to pay a fee, how does this ensure that after they get approved, they continue to abide by the standards?” I guess I have trust issues.

Taking everything into consideration and kicking my negative self out the door, I can definitely stand by a healthy standard, NON-GMO or other boogie monsters people want to put in food.
