Hi Gigi! I held on to this post because I loved it so much, harder to reply on my phone, so I waited til I had the time to do it on my laptop. You echoed so many feelings I have been having !! On to your questions:
Have you missed me?—–yes…but…..since I am not reading/writing blogs barely at all (for the past few months)………and I am not on social media that much, while I miss you, because I care about how you are, I am not always around to notice fast enough that someone is missing.
If you’re a blogger, what are your thoughts on blogging these days? Before my summer from hell, I had already cut down on blogging. I hadn’t been “feeling” it for a loooong time. Even before COVID I was feeling burned out. The blogging world is NOTHING like it was when I first started 11 years ago………in my opinion it is much more irrelevant.
If you’re a blogger, how long have you been blogging and what changes have you noticed? Well I said above I was blogging for 11 years (substract that I haven’t posted since July this year)……..in the pet industry, brands are NOT looking for brand ambassadors and the number of sponsored posts have dwindled considerably. Some die hard Pollyannas would say I was wrong, but trust me, I call it as I see it. People also aren’t reading blogs the way they did 11 years ago. It was a novelty then. Now? Not so much.
Let’s catch up! What’s new with you? Our cat passed in a horrific and tragic way on June 30th (he hemorraged to death 5 days after a botched biopsy surgery). Our condo looked like a crime scene took place in the bedroom. He should still be alive, it was horrific. Our dog passed 9 days after our cat, our dog passed of cancer. My step daughter who was 44 passed unexpectedly (she had been ill but her passing was a complete shock to all of us) passed in August. It’s pretty clear why I haven’t been blogging.
What’s your favorite social platform and why? Right now I wouldn’t say I have any favorite, I do what I have time to do when I feel like doing anything at all. Probably I’m on Facebook the most and even that isn’t that much.
Have you had any major life changes recently? I guess I mentioned that above lol. On a good note, we adopted a psycho kitten on Sept 21 and we are getting a new puppy this weekend! I am currently having my cat blog redesigned to be both cat AND dog and the prototype is too cute!! I hope to start that around Thanksgiving or early December. When I do start it will strictly be for fun, I will post when the mood hits but will shoot for at least once a week. I will NOT be posting with the frequence I had been for 11 years, that’s for sure! I will be posting mostly for me to chronicle their lives……..that way I won’t have the petty competition that plagued me for most of my 11 blogging years! (Below I linked to my cat’s blog because while I am keeping Dakota’s strictly for me to see my memories, I will no longer be posting on it)

Sometimes taking a break from blogging is a good ideas. Sounds like it has been quite therapeutic. Love Instagram as well and I find it a nice distraction from blogging. Though, I’m with you, sticking with blogging!!

And THAT is what I am learning to do now – adjusting my schedule! I still love blogging (minus some of the visitors that are just here to get a link back and don’t even read my post) but realizing that I can do it on MY TIME versus a set time is a new concept to me, ha ha!

I was wondering what happened to you. It’s really good to see you back. That’s great that you have been taking time out for your son. I clearly remember when my kids were younger and how much time it takes up to be able to spend quality time with your kids and family. That’s great that you have taken time away from blogging to be able to do those important things for yourself. But it’s great to see you back!

On top of that though, my whole family made a huge transition and then had a bunch of projects once the transition was complete. I will definitely reveal more about that in the near future!
