This is not going to be one of my usual posts.
Forgive me, for you shan’t be swooned by food, or be given an insight into the mind of a preggo (the CONDITION not the spaghetti sauce).
You won’t be entertained by memes …
Shit… It’s me we are talking about… I couldn’t help myself. Old habits, ya know?
So why a post that isn’t about food?
TWO THINGS:
- It’s Christmas time and Christmas means sugar, and sugar and my pancreas (and the rest of me really) are at war.
- There’s a musical coming out thanks to some new music made with the cello strings that arrived last month, hopefully soon, about the Space Race. I love space. We live in space. I’m pregnant and I take up THREE parking space-s. Har. Har.
So anyways… Space is awesome. NASA is awesome. I believe TARGET agrees because they continually sell NASA clothing made by a wholesale screen printing company and for good reason…
Space has been written about in countless books… Immortalized in TV… Film… Radio…
Yet for SOME REASON… NEVER on Broadway.
How has no one written a musical about Apollo 11 and space yet?!?!
Well… For the past SIX years a guy you may know, my gentleman caller… Landon Ashworth… Has been writing a musical; a musical about the space race between the USSR, and the USA.
Did you like Hamilton?
The only answer is YES. Everyone likes Hamilton.
Landon’s musical has the hip-hop soul of Hamilton… Tunes so damn catchy that I hum them till I punch him SQUARE in the face for getting them stuck in my head…
And an emotional ending so powerful that everytime I hear the last song, I sob.
UGLY CRY. Not cause I’m pregnant… But because I’m human and the songs HIT THE FEELS and hit them hard.
And this brings me to why I am writing a post so outside of the air fryer…
Because I want ALL OF YOU to be some of the first people to hear a song from my male suitor’s musical…
“To The Moon”
The story of the Space Race.
It’s a song about Christmas.
In 1968… The first three humans in history orbited the moon on Christmas.
Three Americans.
That would be the crew of Apollo 8.
Now while Landon is singing in the music video you’re about to watch… On Broadway… It will be sung by an actor playing Michael Collins, the “forgotten astronaut” of Apollo 11.
Grab those tissues because… Uglying crying… Yep. Going to happen.
What you’re about to see in this music video ALL ACTUALLY HAPPENED, and while this post and video are NOT about food… Here’s a fun fact Landon wanted you to know!
Apollo astronauts took pills to make them not poop during their missions and ate very little, so they pooped even less! Something about the smell and being in a closed environment, blah blah blah.
That was all I got when he was talking to me yet again about space because… I GOT HUNGRY.
So CHOW DOWN ON THIS SNEAK PEAK WITH ME…
And SUPPORT the man who puts up with being tortured in all MY videos!
SO TELL ME…
- Are you a SPACE fan?!
- Do you own any NASA clothing?
- What are your thoughts on this sneak peek from my husband’s musical?!
- Do you know who Michael Collins is?
- How much do you know about The Space Race?
- Would you go to a Broadway play about The Space Race?
