When I was little ol’ A-HOLE GiGi… I once ran away from home because my mom tried to feed me salmon for dinner.
I remember my mother and siblings driving around looking for me, screaming my name out the car window, and I just laughed thinking: “you’ll never find me!”
Let’s just say that was one of the many events that led my mom and dad to ship me off to boarding school at age 14.

I will wait until you’re done GASPING in disbelief to continue, because I am sure you all probably know at this point (and if you don’t, you will learn very quickly), my certifiable obsession with salmon is bored-line worrisome for the population of salmon on this Earth.
That’s right. I eat the fish… EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
Screw cod. Forget halibut
However… To say I eat simply salmon round-the-clock is actually rather general, because there are a few different types of this gloriously fatty, red-fleshed swimmer and I don’t actually eat ALL the types (because ANOTHER SHOCKER ALERT: I DON’T LIKE ALL THE TYPES).

I’m sure you’ve all seen the different varieties lined up on ice in the fish market at the grocery store before… So I am probably just answering my own question right now.
That being said… DO YOU ACTUALLY KNOW THE DIFFERENCE between them all?
Sure, there is wild salmon and farmed salmon… And I am sure you’ve heard the controversy over FARMED SALMON… But were you aware that there are a lot of different types of wild salmon… Such as, Coho, King, Sockeye… Just to name a few.
Well in this week’s GiGi Eats… I put my lab coat on… Okay, I really didn’t because I don’t have one… Just go with me on this one… And discuss the differences between all the types and then taste test them all to see which gives the BIGGEST FOODGASM!
