Answering “not good” or “I’m terrible” is generally not common when people ask you “how are you doing”…
These strangers… And honestly, sometimes “friends and family” (I put quotes around these things because aren’t you supposed to be able to tell them anything and everything?) who ask are really just trying to be polite, or they’re trying to cover up some awkward silence with a tiny conversation.
Well, I may be one of the rare few who… When asked “how are you?”… Answer with… Well…
HOW I AM REALLY FEELING!
And honestly… Between the latter portion of April and the beginning of June, when people asked me how I was doing… I would typically answer with:
“I FEEL LIKE FORKING SHIT!”
Now the reason why I felt NOT SO GREAT was because… I was going through the FIRST TRIMESTER of pregnancy.
Some of you may not know this but the first trimester of pregnancy generally brings on a whole host of symptoms that make you truly wish you used a promising birth control method.
There are the rare few sparkly unicorns out there though who feel and act as though $20 million dollars just landed in their bank account.
Thankfully for me (no, I didn’t win the lottery)… I did not suffer from the worst of the worst symptoms (such as throwing up every hour on the hour)… But I was definitely NO unicorn.
Instead, I suffered from extreme nausea and was so tired I could barely lift a finger (however, I somehow still managed to get my daily cardio in).
And…
I. HATED. ALL. FOOD.
ESPECIALLY SALMON.
Yes, you read that correctly. I HATED SALMON.
And as most, if not ALL OF YOU KNOW… Salmon is (or was?)… MY LIFELINE. My staple. I used to waver back and forth as to whether I liked it more than my husband, Landon (I even wrote in my vows that he will forever battle salmon for my heart).
Well, Landon is in luck because he is currently Number One (and I don’t see that changing for quite some time)… Because… Well, while I can eat salmon again now… Without wanting to completely gag… I still feel a little funky about it.
For instance… I only want to eat it when I eat out at a restaurant. I DO NOT want to cook it myself (in fact, I rarely want to cook in general, hence why I have not had a lot of recipe videos lately).
Odd but true.
And speaking of odd… There are a few things I have been doing during this pregnancy (that I was doing prior to) that some might find SHOCKING or WEIRD or UNHEALTHY… But in my latest GiGi Eats Video… I explain WHY what I am doing (not caring about mercury content in fish, still exercising heavily, etc)… Is actually NOT BAD AT ALL. So here… Here’s HOW I AM DOING (cause I know you asked!)…
SO TELL ME…
- HOW ARE YOUUUUU DOING?
- Previously pregnant women, what “taboo” activities/habits did you partake in during pregnancy? Did anything “bad” happen because of your actions?
- What food did you used to love, but now hate?
- How do you get your caffeine fix in the morning (if you did drink it)?
- Favorite type of fish?
- What’s your most enjoyable way to work out?
