I want to tell you about the first love of my life… From what feels like many eons ago… Although, it really wasn’t eons ago because I am not THAT OLD.
Hearty. Full of energy. Thin and squishy, yet also chiseled. Dependable, especially when I was feeling down and out… Yet at times, was sometimes hot or cold, but always rather plain. And… And… Was Italian.
Unfortunately, spending time in other people’s mouths, was a favorite activity of his (damn Italians)… Thus my body grew an intense distaste for him.
Thankfully… I don’t see him all that often anymore. Occasionally I might see my ex-love when I dine out, but we mutually avoid one another; almost as if we abide by an unwritten contract.
Oh but wait, there is a “contract”… Also known as a diagnosis (Celiac and Crohn’s)…
Because if you have yet to catch on people, the first love of my life was named Spaghetti. Some of you may know him as Pasta, Penne, Rigatoni, Orzo, the list of aliases goes on and on, because as I said earlier, he was quite the “player” and tries to turn everyone on.
I am proud to admit that I am not one to hold grudges. Truthfully, I don’t. However, once in awhile, I long for his hearty body… But I never get mad (or sad) about our terminated relationship because as I said, I do not hold grudges; their a complete waste of time and energy.
Okay, I can officially stop referring to spaghetti as a man… Although after looking at a laundry list of different ways to say “spaghetti”, every single name sounds like it could refer to an Italian DUDE!
And now I have you all thinking, “Okay GiGi… You do this every week, the F-ITY F-BOMB is the point of this blog post?”
Remember how I said I don’t hold grudges… Well, in this specific instance, that’s because… I found a REPLACEMENTÂ and this replacement has inspired my latest “roll in the kitchen”… With some balls.
